The 917 Society is dedicated to educating and inspiring young Americans to understand, appreciate, and uphold the U.S. Constitution. Its primary mission is to ensure that every eighth-grade student in the United States receives a personal copy of the Constitution, fostering a deep connection to the foundational document that defines our nation's principles and freedoms and to honor and celebrate Constitution Day each September 17th per federal mandate 108-447.
By providing these pocket-sized Constitutions, the 917 Society aims to empower the next generation with the knowledge and tools necessary to become informed, engaged citizens.
The 917 Society also provides free educational resources online such as lesson plans, games and quizzes. The organization believes that understanding the Constitution is crucial for maintaining the liberties and responsibilities that come with being an American. Through education and outreach, the 917 Society seeks to instill a sense of patriotism and civic duty in young people, encouraging them to actively participate in our democracy and protect the rights and freedoms enshrined in the Constitution.
